Over the course of the past few decades as a voiceover artist I have lent my voice to many TV ads for well-known companies.

As with all productions, the work of a voiceover artist is divided into two categories: layout and utilisation. Layout refers to the actual voice recording, whereas the utilisation of the recording refers to how the recording is used by the client. This means that we charge more for utilisation if a TV ad is shown across Germany than if it is only shown by a local TV broadcaster. The utilisation rights for voice recordings used in TV ads are granted for one year in the first instance. If the ad is shown over a longer period of time, utilisation rights will need to be negotiated again in the future.
The following prices apply:
Layout for a local TV ad: € 75
Layout for a regional TV ad: € 200
Layout for a national TV ad: € 300
Utilisation rights per year (local): € 200
Utilisation rights per year (regional): € 240
Utilisation rights per year (national): € 300
